Defcon Hacker Conference
You may recall the reference to “Defcon” in the chapter dealing with setting up an early warning system and all of the hack attempts on the Dozier Internet Law website during the time the conference was in session. Not everyone attending, of course, is a certified bad guy hacker (black hat). Want to understand the problem and gain a greater appreciation for the complexities involved? Here is a link to the Dozier Internet Law blog posting on the recent Defcon conference in Vegas…Internet Lawyer on Defcon. To be fair, as I point out, many of the attendees are information security people. But the problem is that they let kids anonymously attend and learn all of the latest and greatest hacks.
Note the debate in the comments of the blog. I haven’t taken them up on their invitation to meet with the founder of Defcon. We’ll see how that develops. Should I? And what message should I bring with me?
